Seniors in the Alvin, TX area who are looking for social interaction with a group of their peers can find it at their local Alvin Senior Center. The Alvin Senior Center offers social, educational, physical, and recreational opportunities to those aged 50 and older. In addition to the ongoing programs, the Alvin Senior Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year that are also geared toward the city’s senior population.
The Alvin Senior Center is open year round. The 10,000 square foot facility features: 2 large meeting rooms, a music room, a computer room with Internet ready computers, a TV lounge, craft room and billiards table. In the TV lounge, seniors can try their hand at popular gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Wii.

- Barbershop Chorus, Tuesday evenings
- Ceramics – Wednesdays

Civic and special interest groups are also a part of the program at the Alvin Senior Center. All of these groups, as well as several others, hold regular weekly or monthly meetings at the Alvin Senior Center. Interested seniors are encouraged to join.
The Alvin Senior Center is not an institution or group home setting. It is merely a place for active seniors to go and enjoy the interaction of their peers during the daytime hours. Seniors can choose to come every day, once a week, or just a few times a month.
